Medium Section Mill in the United States
At the end of October, GMB Heavy Industries successfully completed a ten-day outage at a medium section mill in the United States. GMB supplied fixed and moving rakes, as customer had issues with achieving product straightness and proper carry over. Carry over was also a particular problem, due to the particularly wide bed, where each rake is comprised of three sections. The section of each rake, closest to the entry trough was replaced. These sections were determined to be those in most need of replacement. As the customer had a limited budget for the bed upgrade, GMB interacted closely with management to determine which improvements would provide the best return on investment.
Also, as part of this cooling bed upgrade, GMB rebuilt the Entry Trough Wiper Arm, and also replaced the Wiper Arm Button Rolls.
